In May 2022, the Thammasat Museum of Anthropology, Faculty of Sociology and Anthropology, received a donation of mural photographs from Ajarn Uthong Prasatwinichai, a former lecturer in the Department of Social Sciences, Faculty of Arts, Silpakorn University. These photographs are part of his personal research, with images of murals from over 200 temples across every region of Thailand.
This collection provides an extensive record of Thai temple murals and documents the life and changes in Thai communities, society, and culture. It is a precious resource for students, lecturers, and the wider public for future study and research.
Interested individuals can view the photographs and narratives for each mural on Ajarn Uthong Prasatwinichai’s blog, “Touring the History of Common People’s Murals,” via this link https://www.bloggang.com/mainblog.php?id=muralssay
